Joel, you’re reading my mind! 😅 YouTube videos are actually in the works - just getting my setup dialed in first. Thanks for the encouragement! Do you have a channel? If so, I’d love to check it out!

So Step 4 is actually the prompt to input in Step 3 into Chat GPT.

Yes, and also something you should keep for later - it's something that you should be able to use in the Shortcuts app, and as a daily shortcut.

Hey Tiff,

Just wondering if you might know a quick way to extract YouTube transcripts from videos I watch from others content please? Often the transcripts are broken down into little time stamped bites and I can’t grab them all to dump into a doc.

In your article you mention making bullet points from transcripts which would be amazing to do for the things I’m learning atm.

😵‍💫 Sorry if this is super dumb.

Girl I got you!! I totally relate to this struggle and I actually discovered a little trick to get through my endless YouTube playlists with NotebookLM. In NotebookLM you can actually add links to videos and get a searchable, interactive notebook with AI insights, mind maps, and basically extract the good stuff from the video.

I actually made a little video about this, if you want I can send you the link.

And if you don't need a full notebook and prefer a quick transcript I have had luck with some of the general "YouTube transcript generator" tools, sometimes I do have to try more than one to get the results...

Ahhh light bulbs going off here in Australia! There are generators to extract transcripts! Hmm I think I’ll trial your notebook LM trick please, if you don’t mind sharing the video? I need to look closely at NLM for the college I work for, so may as well start somewhere!

Thank you

I love this thanks for sharing. I use shortcuts frequently.

I’ve followed you format but I can’t set up the daily plan shortcut you described. I’m not able to get it to call to the calendar day. Any suggestions

Hey girl! So glad you're loving the shortcuts content! 🙌

For the calendar issue - this usually happens when the shortcut doesn't have proper calendar permissions. Try this:

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars + Make sure Shortcuts app has access.

In your shortcut, when you add the "Get Calendar Events" action, tap on the calendar name and specifically select which calendar to pull from (don't leave it on "Ask Each Time")

Drop me a DM if you're still stuck and I can take a peek at your setup 💪

Oh wow, this is such a helpful post, finally a step-by-step AI + automation guide that anyone can try without needing tech skills or paid tools. Really appreciate how detailed and doable this is. I’m on Android, so going to explore if I can build something similar with Tasker (or similar app)!

Ahh Luan, thank you!! That means a lot. I really wanted to make AI + automation feel accessible—not just for the techies. 🔧💡 I love that you're thinking about Tasker on Android too! I have gotten so many questions about that! Would love to hear what you come up with—there’s so much potential in that space. Let’s keep the ideas flowing!

So true, Tiff! I am, especially after reading your post! 🙌

I’d never really paid attention to Shortcuts on iPhone before, but with Action GPT, connecting to external apps has become so intuitive. It’s opening up a whole new layer of automation I hadn’t tapped into before!

This resonates deeply. Too often, we chase the latest AI tools without truly evaluating their value. The real power of AI isn’t in endless features or shiny widgets, it’s in building intentional systems that adapt to how we work, think, and create. Your approach of using built-in tools to streamline and amplify your workflows mirrors what I recently explored in my post ‘The Human Prompting Playbook’. It’s about shifting our mindset from collecting tools to consciously crafting processes that serve us. Thanks for clearly articulating the importance of purposeful simplicity and practical effectiveness.
